MG Motors has announced its newest brand ambassador ahead of their launch in India, Benedict Cumberbatch is possibly the most ideal person for the brand bringing the British way into the 21st century!

Morris Garages or MG have their sights set on the Indian SUV market, with the SAIC backing their exploits the company has spent the last two years preparing their entry into the country. Luckily for them, infrastructure was only a matter of fitting into the space that General Motors left behind when they pulled out of the country in 2016. With their first SUV the Hector scheduled to launch in 2019, MG has announced their brand ambassador for India. Of course, being a quintessentially British brand MG needed to a recognisable, familiar British icon and there are few better than Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch, who shot to fame after his role in the BBC modern rendition of Sherlock Holmes.

Benedict Cumberbatch commented on the association with MG brand, “I have grown up seeing and reading about MGB’s and MG Midgets, recognising MG as a classic and iconic brand. I am delighted to be part of the launch of the new MG in India with the MG Hector, which may well be a classic of the future.”

We must say that of all the icons they could have chosen, Benedict seems to be the perfect fit, considering his almost universal appeal his resonance with the brand’s vision of bringing a modern take on old-school British class is what probably prompted them to enlist him in the first place.
