Spending capabilities of Rolls-Royce customers can never be doubted and the company surely is well- aware of this. Obviously, a Rolls-Royce customer is extremely rich and is someone who doesn’t ask prices and just buy. One such customer commissioned Rolls-Royce to build him a custom car – one that features paint with a thousand crushed diamonds. The result of this dubious demand for exclusivity will be showcased during this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car in question is a long-wheelbase Ghost called the Elegance. The paint has been given a self explanatory name too, ‘Diamond Stardust’, and the brand says it is the ‘most luxurious and lustrous exterior ever seen on a motor car’. And, they’re not wrong!
Although Rolls did not specify a number on the price tag, and we’d rather not go near that topic, but the brand gives a slight hint by saying that it is simply the most expensive paint job ever done on a car.

Rolls-Royce specialists invested two months in crushing and mixing the diamonds into a clear paint. And then there were two additional days for paint application, but that’s not much for a car that is hand-built. It also has hand painted coachlines in Mugello Red and Black, a theme that continues on the centre of the wheels and on the inside with Mugello Red stitching on black leather.
Rolls-Royce will also be unveiling its ‘Couture collection’ – the spring/summer 2017 ‘Dawn – Inspired by Fashion’ collection, which comprises of three Dawn convertibles in Andalusian White paintwork and highlighted in three bright colours – Mugello Red, Cobalto Blue and Mandarin.
