Renault launched the Triber facelift a couple of days ago with some small and some big updates. The Triber is the smallest and most affordable MPV in India and moreover, it’s Renault’s primary breadwinner in India. This is the first significant update for Triber ever since it was first launched in 2019. Let us look at all the key differences and similarities between the facelift and pre-facelift versions of Renault Triber.

The styling of the new Renault Triber gets a significant makeover. The front fascia is completely revamped featuring a gloss black grille with thick diagonal slats and flaked by sleeker LED projector headlamps form an unbroken arc. The new 2D Renault diamond logo takes centre stage. The front bumper is also redesigned housing a larger central air dam with gloss black inserts and flanked by sleeker air splitters. 

The addition of an LED fog lamp is another big change. The side profile remains largely unchanged barring the new 15-inch flex steel wheel design and gloss black door handles. At the rear, the taillamp design is new with a smoked effect added. The “TRIBER” lettering is now repositioned lower in the tailgate. The rear bumper itself has been reworked, now appearing more sculpted and robust than before. The new Renault Triber is available in three new colours: Amber Terracota, Shadow Grey, and Zanskar Blue.

The interiors of the Triber have also undergone several ramifications. For starters, the all-black cabin has given way to a more pleasant dual-tone cabin which makes the cabin feel more airy and spacious. The seat upholstery now comes with a light colour textured patter. The dashboard layout too is also changed thanks to a larger floating touchscreen similar to the Kiger.

Renault Triber Old vs New difference: Features

Speaking of features, the Triber facelift comes with a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Other premium features added include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic headlights, wireless phone charging, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera. In terms of safety, the Triber now comes with six airbags as standard, cruise control, and front parking sensors.

Renault Triber Old vs New difference: Price

Prices forTriber facelift start at Rs 6.30 lakh and go up to Rs 9.17 lakh (both ex-showroom). This translates to a price hike of Rs 14,000-41,000 over the outgoing model, depending on the variant. Also, nomenclature for the trims have changed. The Triber is now available in four terms namely Authentic, Evolution, Techno and Emotion.

Renault Triber Old vs New similarity: Powertrain

Mechanically, the Triber remains unchanged with the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which kicks out 71 bhp and 96Nm of peak torque. The engine gets two gearbox choices, a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The former claims a mileage of 19 kmpl while the latter claims 18.29 kmpl. The Triber also gets a government-approved CNG kit, which will be available soon.
