Renault is working on multiple new models for the Indian market including the new-gen Duster, its seven-seat version named Boreal, Triber facelift, and the Kwid EV. The French carmaker is actively working on all four models with the Triber facelift slated to launch first this week.
At the same time, Renault is also working on its first electric car in the form of Kwid EV. Already on sale in Europe as the Dacia Spring EV, the Kwid EV will essentially be a rebadged version of the same in India with different logo and branding. Test mules of the Kwid EV have been spotted on Indian roads on multiple occasions in the recent past.
Renault Kwid EV spotted in Brazil
In all the spy shots till date, the Kwid EV has been spotted under heavy camouflage. The latest set of spy shots, reportedly coming from Brazil, shows the Kwid EV in its full glory for the first time. In the images, we see a huge inventory of the all-electric Kwid piled up most likely at a dealership year in the South American country.

Renault is reportedly stockpiling next-generation E-Kwid units in Brazil ahead of its anticipated launch in the second half of 2025. These vehicles are said to be imported from the company’s manufacturing facilities in China.
As expected, the glimpses suggest that the exterior is in line with its European counterpart barring different branding and logo. The Kwid EV sports distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs, with the headlamps neatly integrated into the front bumper. A gloss black front fascia adds contrast, featuring a centrally placed charging flap that carries the Renault emblem. At the rear, the EV is equipped with Y-pattern LED taillights, connected by a sleek black panel that spans the width of the vehicle.
Renault Kwid EV: Features expected
The Europe-spec Dacia Spring comes loaded with a host of features, including a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, a height-adjustable steering wheel, and an e-Shift gear lever. It supports wireless smartphone mirroring for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and also includes a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function.

For added practicality, it offers two USB charging ports, a spacious 308-litre boot, and an optional 35-litre front trunk (frunk) available as an accessory. We expect the India-spec Kwid EV to be equipped with the same set of features.
Renault Kwid EV: Range & Performance expected
The Kwid EV, based on the Dacia Spring EV, will be powered by a 26.8 kWh battery. As with the global model, it is expected to be offered in two variants: Electric 45 and Electric 65. The Electric 45 variant delivers 44 bhp between 2,521 and 8,200 rpm, with 125 Nm of torque available from 2,521 rpm. According to Dacia, this variant accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 19.1 seconds and has a top speed of 78 kmph.

The more powerful Electric 65 variant produces 64 bhp between 4,057 and 6,000 rpm, along with 113 Nm of torque available from 500 to 4,057 rpm. It achieves 0 to 100 kmph in 13.7 seconds, while maintaining the same top speed of 78 kmph. Renault states that both versions offer a driving range of 225 km.
