Range Rover Velar launched in India at a price of Rs 78.83 lakh

The new Range Rover Velar will also come in a special edition variant called the ‘First edition’ and it will be on sale in limited numbers, those aside the Velar gets four variants by the name elar, Velar S, Velar SE and the Velar HSE.

Land Rover has launched the 2018 Range Rover Velar in India at a price of Rs 78.83 lakh in India. Now while prices were announced in the early part of December in 2017. Land Rover has just launched the vehicle in India meaning that it will now be on sale at Jaguar land rover showrooms across India. Prices for the new Velar will vary from Rs 78.83 lakh for the base petrol but are likely to go up to Rs 1.3 Crore (both prices, ex-showroom) for the range topping 3.0 litre V6 diesel. The Velar will also get a special edition variant labelled the ‘First edition’ which will be on sale in limited numbers, those aside the Velar gets four variants elar, Velar S, Velar SE and the Velar HSE.

In terms of motor trims, the Velar gets two diesel options, the D180 and the D300 and one petrol P250. The D180 from their Ingenium series is a 2.0 litre diesel which makes 180hp and 430 Nm of torque. The D300 is the more power diesel V6 3.0 litre that churns 300 HP and 700Nm of torque. The 2.0 litre petrol P250 makes about 250 hp and 365 NM of torque. All motors transfer power through an 8-speed automatic transmission that will send power to all four wheels.

The Range Rover Velar like all other SUVs that bear the Range Rover badging will get some serious off-road tech including electronic air suspension, Terrain Response System, Dynamic Stability Control, active rear locking differential and a Roll Stability Control System. The Velar has its work cut out for it competing with the likes of the Volvo XC90, Mercedes Benz GLE and the newly launched Audi Q5.
