Range Rover has launched a new special edition model called the Range Rover SV Ranthambore, priced at Rs 4.98 crore (ex-showroom). Based on the long wheelbase Range Rover on sale in the country, the Ranthambore edition is designed by the brand’s bespoke SV division.
It is also the first-ever limited edition Range Rover to be developed exclusively for the Indian market. Only 12 units of the Range Rover SV Ranthambore will be manufactured. As part of the launch, JLR has pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from each vehicle sale to the Wildlife Conservation Trust of India, supporting tiger and wildlife conservation initiatives.
Range Rover SV Ranthambore: Exterior design
The styling of this special edition Range Rover draws inspiration from the character of the tiger in the Ranthambore National Park located in Rajasthan. As a result, visually it is very distinct from the rest of the Range Rover models. For starters, the exterior is wrapped around a bespoke deep black body colour with a rich red shimmering effect, an ode to the colours of the tiger.

This is complemented by Corinthian Bronze and Anthracite accents reminiscent of a tiger’s stripes. The same colour effect is carried over to the roof and mirror caps, as well as to the 23-inch forged style dark grey wheels with Corinthian Bronze inserts.
Range Rover SV Ranthambore: Interiors & features
Interiors of the Range Rover SV Ranthambore edition epitomises SV Bespoke luxury and craftsmanship featuring a combination of Caraway and light Perlino semi-aniline leather with contrast stitching, and the artistic embroidery on the seats which is inspired by the dynamic motif of the stripes on the spine of the tiger. Highlights such as customised scatter cushions, noble chrome jewellery finishes, light linear wenge veneers, and white ceramic dials accentuate the SUV’s ultra luxurious character.

In terms of features, Range Rover SV Ranthambore edition comes as a four-seat layout with fully reclinable seats, a powered club table, deployable cupholders and a refrigerated compartment complete with SV etched glassware. Highlighting its exclusive nature is a bespoke theme, accents, embroidered seats and cushions, SV bespoke branded tread plates with ‘Ranthambore Edition’, and ‘1 of 12’ designation all part of the SV Signature suite.
Range Rover SV Ranthambore: Powertrain
Powering the Range Rover SV Ranthambore edition is a familiar 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which pushes out 395 bhp and 550 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
