Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced prices of the top-spec SV Edition 1 of the Range Rover Sport in India. The British carmaker has listed the luxury SUV on its official India website with a sticker price of Rs 2.80 crore (ex-showroom). Besides the Range Rover SV Edition 1, JLR has also introduced the Autobiography Edition of the plug-in-hybrid Range Rover Sport.Â
The electrified Range Rover Sport is priced at Rs 2.11 crore (ex-showroom). Deliveries for both the recently inducted Range Rovers are expected to commence in the coming 6 to 8 months.
Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1
‘SV’ stands for ‘Special Vehicle’ operations for the Land Rover group and hence the SV Edition 1 variant sits on top of Range Rover Sport. It gets subtle styling updates over the regular Sport variant including a more aggressive front bumper with large vents, side skirts, and dual twin exhausts. Other critical changes include wider front and rear tracks, and increased camber.

The revised front fascia is necessitated by the increased cooling requirements of the V8 engine and the brakes. Speaking of which, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1 is powered by a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that pumps out 626 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque.Â
Power is transferred to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox which helps it to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. It also claims a top speed of 290 kmph.
Range Rover Sport PHEV Autobiography
The plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport is available only in the top-spec ‘Autobiography’ trim. This version of the Range Rover Sport is powered by a plug-in-hybrid powertrain featuring a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine that is coupled with a 38.2kWh battery pack. This powertrain develops a combined peak output of 455 bhp and 660 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Range Rover ever.

As for performance, Range Sport PHEV can sprint to 100 kmph from a standstill in just 5.5 seconds while claiming a top speed of 225 kmph. The battery offers an electric-only range of 123 km (WLTP) and can be fully charged within 5 hours using a 7kW AC charger. Like the SV Edition 1, the PHEV Autobiography edition comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.
