Earlier during the unveiling of the new X-Trail in July this year, Nissan India laid out its roadmap for the next couple of years which included multiple new SUVs for the market. One of them was the facelifted Magnite facelift which is supposed to launch later this year. A few days back, Nissan confirmed that the company will be launching a new model on October 4.

This model is most likely to be the updated Magnite. Test mules of the facelifted subcompact SUV have been spotted on a few occasions over the past few months. Now, the Japanese car brand has officially teased the Magnite facelift ahead of its launch in October. In fact, Nissan has shared two new teasers on its social media handles in the last couple of days.

Each of the teasers highlight the updates to be expected from the sub-4 metre crossover. For instance, the first teaser reveals the use of newly designed dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels. In the second teaser, the short clip reveals an updated front grille and a revised LED taillamp cluster. For now, the updates are purely cosmetic and there are no signs of any functional changes.

Nissan Magnite facelift: Expected specs & features

In terms of features, we expect Nissan to upgrade to the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is offered in the top-spec Geza edition of Magnite. Other possible updates could include the addition of an electric sunroof, and a new seat upholstery. Rest of the features are expected to remain unchanged which include a 7-inch digital display, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, and push-button start/stop.

Nissan is also unlikely to make any mechanical changes in the Magnite. The carmaker will continue to offer the Magnite with two petrol engine options– a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit. The former puts out 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The latter can churn out 99 bhp and 160 Nm (152 Nm in AT) of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a CVT automatic gearbox.
