Nissan has largely been dormant in the Indian market for a long time with just a single mass market product in the form of Magnite until the X-Trail arrived in India as a CBU model a couple of months earlier. However, at the launch of X-Trail, the Japanese market is looking to revive its business in India with multiple new launches in the pipeline.
Out of the many launches planned by Nissan in the next couple of years, one of the most prominent launches is the updated Magnite slated to happen sometime later this year. We can now confirm that Nissan will be launching the Magnite facelift on October 4 this year. This will be the first major update for the subcompact SUV ever since it was first launched in late 2020.
Nissan Magnite facelift: What to expect?
Test mules of the facelifted Nissan Magnite were spotted multiple times a few months ago although not much could be deduced from those prototypes since they were heavily camouflaged. However, we could comprehend a few visual changes on its exterior. These include reprofiled front and rear bumpers, restyled front grille, and new alloy wheels.

We expect interiors also to remain largely unchanged with possible changes including larger touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster with better graphics. Other key highlights expected to be part of the package are an advanced PM2.5 air filter, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry, a JBL audio system, ambient lighting, and puddle lamp.
The sub-4 metre crossover is also expected to benefit from six airbags across the entire range apart from ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. Additional safety features expected to be offered include hill start assist, vehicle dynamic control, 360-degree camera, traction control system and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Nissan Magnite facelift: Powertrain specs
Powering the Nissan Magnite facelift will be the same 1.0-litre NA petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The former pushes out 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque while the latter pumps out 99 bhp and 160 Nm (152 Nm of AT). Both engine options are paired to a 5-speed gearbox as standard with the option of an AMT in both.
Currently offered at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), we expect a minor bump in prices for the Magnite facelift.
