Nissan recently launched a mild-facelift of the Magnite with introductory prices starting at Rs 5.99 lakh. At the same time, Citroen launched an automatic gearbox option for C3. Since both these crossovers play in the similar price range and segment, let us look at which model with an automatic gearbox is a more enticing option to consider, on paper.

For this comparison, we are not considering the 5-speed AMT gearbox of the Nissan Magnite offered with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor and only taking the CVT gearbox offered with the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill in consideration.

For starters, the automatic gearbox options in Magnite and C3 are offered in turbocharged petrol engines. The Magnite is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor which pushes out 99 bhp and 152 Nm of peak torque with the CVT gearbox. On the other hand, the Citroen C3 gets a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which kicks out 109 bhp and 205 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the C3 gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Despite a CVT gearbox in the facelifted Magnite, the C3 with a torque converter claims a better mileage of 19.3 kmpl as compared to 17.9 kmpl in the former.
