Hyundai has launched the i20 Sportz (O) variant in India, priced at Rs 8.73 lakh ex-showroom. Based on the Sportz trim, the new variant is available with a single or dual-tone paint scheme, with the dual-tone version carrying a price tag of Rs 8.88 lakh ex-showroom.
Compared to the Sportz variant, the Sportz (O) gets a wireless charging facility, leatherette finish on the doors, and an electric sunroof. For the addition of three features, Hyundai is commanding a premium of Rs 35,000 over the standard Sportz variant.
In terms of engine, the motor remains unchanged and the new Sportz (O) variant is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 82bhp and 115Nm of torque. Gearbox choices include a manual and an iVT, however, the Sportz (O) variant is available with a manual gearbox only.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, reverse parking sensors and camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors amongst others. The i20 competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Tata Altroz in the Indian market.
