Maruti Suzuki’s biggest launch of the year happened in May in the form of the fourth-gen Swift. Now, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is gearing up to launch the all-new Dzire based on the Swift. The third-gen Dzire has been spotted testing on several instances over the past few months.
The Dzire is the highest-selling sedan in the country, accounting for almost 45% of the market share. The subcompact sedan finds most of its buyers in the fleet and cab industry, and equally desirable for general buyers looking for an affordable sedan. The new-gen Dzire has once again been spied testing.
New-gen Maruti Dzire: Exterior
The latest set of spy shots have been clicked somewhere in Pune. On this occasion, the upcoming iteration of Maruti Dzire is most probably undergoing pre-launch test runs by ARAI since the images reveal an emission testing kit attached to the exhaust system of the prototype. The latest test mule of the new Dzire is seen partially camouflaged yet the images reveal some interesting details.

For starters, it gets brand new projector headlamps with LED internals which also integrate LED DRLs. Further, the nose is completely redesigned with a sleeker grille. A new air dam means the front bumper is also reprofiled which houses a circular fog lamp on each side. The alloy wheel design is new. On taking a closer look, one can notice cameras installed on the ORVMs which indicates the addition of a 360-degree camera.
At the rear, the new Dzire is expected to get the same C-shaped taillamps. Overall, the shape and silhouette of the car remains largely unchanged.
New-gen Maruti Dzire: Interiors
No images of the new-gen Maruti Dzire have leaked yet, but the Indo-Japanese carmaker is expected to carry forward the same layout as the all-new Swift. The new Dzire will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree camera. It will also get a sunroof, another new feature in this sedan class. Like Swift, the Dzire top model will be equipped with Arkamys music system.

Like the new-gen Swift, the all-new Dzire will not get ADAS but will get six airbags, hill-hold assist, Electronic Stability Program, 360-degree parking camera, ABS, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as part of the safety package.
New-gen Maruti Dzire: Engine specs
Powering the Dzire will be a 1.2-litre NA, 3-cylinder, Z-series petrol engine which is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-step AMT transmission. This motor kicks out 80.4 bhp and 111.7 Nm of peak torque. Maruti is also expected to launch a CNG version of the new Dzire going forward which will be available in a slightly detuned form.
