BMW has launched the most powerful M model of its portfolio in India. Called the XM Label edition, the new Beemer is priced at a whopping Rs 3.25 crore and comes to India as a fully-imported Completely Built Unit (CBU) model. Interestingly, only 500 units of the XM Label will be manufactured globally and only one unit is reserved for the Indian market.
The German marque is yet to reveal the identity of the exclusive owner of the India-spec XM Label. This limited edition model receives plenty of attributes which differentiate it from the standard XM both aesthetically as well as mechanically.

BMW XM Label: Raging performance
However, the biggest highlight of the XM Label lies under its bonnet. Powering the flagship BMW is a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. The IC engine produces 580 bhp and a peak torque of 720 Nm on its own. On the other the electric motor draws energy from a 25.7 kW lithium-ion battery which returns an output of 45 kW (185 bhp) and 280 Nm.

The combined peak output from the entire system stands at 740 bhp and 1000 Nm of torque. The battery is powerful enough to offer a pure-electric driving range of up to 76 to 82 km. Power is transferred to all four wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. There are three drive modes on offer which can be selected using the M Hybrid button on the centre console.
As for performance, the BMW XM can clock an electronically-limited speed of 250 kmph. This figure can be increased to 290 kmph by opting for the M Driver’s Package. The super SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds. BMW is also offering a complimentary Wallbox charger as standard.
