After multiple online teasers in the last couple of weeks, JSW MG Motor has launched the more advanced Windsor EV Pro at an introductory starting price of Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom, inclusive of battery pack) and Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom with battery rental scheme). The former is valid for the first 8,000 bookings.
MG Motor is charging Rs 4.50 per km to customers who opt for the BaaS (Battery as a Service) module. In the standard Windsor, the BaaS module comes at a rate of Rs 3.50 per km. The first owner of the Windsor EV Pro gets a lifetime warranty for the battery. As mentioned in our previous report, the MG Windsor EV Pro gets a larger battery and some additional features over the regular model.
MG Windsor EV Pro: Larger battery, more range
The new Windsor EV Pro comes with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack which is borrowed from the MG ZS EV. This battery claims a range of 449 km on a single charge. This battery feeds energy to the same front-wheel driven PMS motor that pushes out 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque with a top speed of 170 kmph. The Windsor can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds.

Visually, the Windsor EV Pro is identical to the standard model barring Pro badge on the tailgate which serves as the only distinguishing factor between the two models. There are three colour options on offer namely: Ceadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver. Inside the cabin, it gets dual-tone ivory interiors.
MG Windsor EV Pro: More features
Besides the larger battery pack, the updated WIndsor will also benefit from Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which is likely to offer features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, etc. The other big addition is vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging that allows external devices to draw juice from the car’s battery.

The Windsor EV Pro continues to offer premium features such as a 15.6-inch infotainment display, front ventilated seats, rear seats with a 135-degree recline, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, and a wireless phone charger. On the safety front, it comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist and descent control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
