MG Motor is on a roll. The company recently garnered limelight by slashing down prices of its entire lineup in a bid to become more competitive against rivals. Now, the Chinese-owned British brand has rolled out another dice by decreasing the prices of Hector. In addition, the carmaker has introduced two new variants of the mid-size.
After the latest update, prices for Hector have gone down by Rs 95,000, now starting at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Prior to the latest development, MG Hector was available in six trims namely Style, Shine, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. MG has now added two new mid-spec trims— Shine Pro, and Select Pro.

The two new trims are slotted between the Shine and Smart trims. Both these variants come equipped with LED projector headlamps, floating light turn indicators, LED connected taillamps, a 14-inch HD portrait infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, push button start/stop button with a smart key, a 7-inch fully-digital instrument console, and a wireless phone charger.
The Shine Pro comes with a single-pane sunroof while the Select Pro gets a dual-pane, panoramic sunroof. Further, the Select Pro variant offers 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels whereas the Shine Pro rides on 17-inch silver alloy wheels. Both variants offer a first-in-segment digital bluetooth key and key sharing capability While the Select Pro is priced at Rs 16 lakh, the Select Pro trim is available at Rs 17.30 lakh (both ex-showroom).
When it comes to safety, the new variants of Hector comes with amenities such as cruise control, electric parking brake, all four-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability program, traction control system, hill hold control (HAC), ABS + EBD, brake assist, seatbelt reminder for all seats, follow-me-home headlamps, cornering front fog lamps, front & rear defogger, speed sensing auto door lock, ISOFIX child seat anchors and high-speed warning alert.
Hector Shine Pro and Select Pro variants also offer the unique car ownership program “MG SHIELD” after-sales service options. Also, customers will be offered a standard 3+3+3 package, i.e., a warranty of three years with unlimited kilometres, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free periodic services.
