JSW MG Motor India announced that it will establish its CBU business in the country by establishing a new chain of dealerships called MG Select. The first model to be launched under this new umbrella will be the MG Cyberster. The fully-electric roadster will be making its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
MG Cyberster: Powertrain specs revealed
Ahead of its official debut next month, MG Motor has revealed critical details regarding the India-spec Cyberster. The electric sportscar will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup, which derives its energy from a 77 kWh battery which promises a range of 444 km on a single charge.

MG claims that this to be the slimmest battery pack for a car in the world with 110mm thickness. The combined output from this dual-motor setup is 504 bhp and 725 Nm of peak torque. It has four drive modes — Comfort, Custom, Sport and Track. Besides the powertrain, MG has also revealed the dynamic setup for the Cyberster. The roadster will come with a front double wishbone along with a rear five link independent suspension, ensuring smooth traction and overall stability.
MG Cyberster: Design
Design is a very strong attribute for the MG Cyberster, given it is a high performance car. Inspired by the legendary MG B Roadster from the 1960s, the MG Cyberster (EV) combines classic roadster charm with futuristic design and cutting-edge technology. The Cyberster made its debut as a pre-production concept at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2021 before making its debut in the production form at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Cyberster is set to become the nation’s first fully electric car equipped with scissor doors, featuring dual radar sensors and an anti-pinch mechanism for enhanced safety. Its performance has been finely tuned by renowned former Italian F1 engineer Marco Fainello. Among its standout design elements are the rear arrow-pattern taillights, while the front showcases sleek LED headlights with integrated DRLs, a sculpted bonnet, and a split air intake.
The exterior design is striking, with a sloping nose, functional air intakes, a split front bumper, 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, connected taillights, scissor doors, and a retractable roof. The Cyberster measures 4,533 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, 1,328 mm in height, and boasts a wheelbase of 2,689 mm.
