MG Cyberster launch tomorrow: All we know so far

MG Motor will offer the Cyberster in four colour options namely Diamond Red, Inca Yellow, Ivory White, and Andes Gray.

JSW MG Motor India kickstarted a new chapter with the launch of its first fully-imported Completely Built Unit (CBU) model in the form of M9 which was launched earlier this week. Launched as part of the MG Select programme, the luxury electric MPV is available at an introductory price of Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The M9 will be followed by the brand’s second imported CBU model in the form of Cyberster. The all-electric roadster is slated to launch tomorrow, i.e., 25 July 2025. Pre-bookings for the MG Cyberster have already commenced at the company’s official website for a token amount of Rs 51,000.  Ahead of its launch let us quickly rewind all that we know about the Cyberster so far.

MG Cyberster: Design

The Cyberster takes inspiration from the legendary 1960s MGB Roadster, blending its classic charm with a low-profile stance, elongated hood, and contemporary aerodynamic contours. One of its most eye-catching features are its scissor doors, reminiscent of the golden era of supercars.

Adding to its appeal, this convertible roadster comes equipped with a retractable hardtop and striking 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED tail lights with arrow-shaped indicators provide a sleek, modern touch.

MG Cyberster: Interiors & Features

The Cyberster’s cabin driver-focussed and brimming with a high-tech cockpit featuring three digital screens — a central 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display flanked by two 7-inch screens. The convertible roaster is loaded with all bells and whistles, including an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 6-way power-adjustable seats, a 4-way adjustable steering wheel, luxurious leather upholstery, two USB ports, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and voice command functionality. In addition there’s a retractable roof that takes just 15 seconds to open or close.

In terms of safety, the Cyberster is equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and collision warning. Additionally, it includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a traction control system, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), blind spot monitor, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.

MG Cyberster: Powertrain specs

The Cyberster has already grabbed eyeballs for its stupendous performance. The electric roadster broke the record of the fastest 0 to 100 kmph acceleration on Indian soil in just 3.2 seconds, thus registering itself in India Book Of Records and Asia Book Of Records. The India-spec Cyberster will be available with dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup that derives energy from a 77 kWh battery pack.

Claimed to be the thinnest battery pack measuring 110m, this unit promises to return a range of 444 km on a single charge. The combined output from this dual-motor setup is 504 bhp and 725 Nm of peak torque. It has four drive modes — Comfort, Custom, Sport and Track. Top speed of the car is limited to 194 kmph.
