The G-Wagon holds the same significance to Mercedes-Benz as the Defender does to Land Rover. Over the years, we have seen multiple iterations of the G-Wagon but nothing matches the performance of the AMG G63. The German marque is about to launch another iteration of the AMG G63 in India.

Mercedes has announced that it will launch a new limited edition model of the AMG G63 on June 12 which is inspired by India. The virtual invite sent to us teased a glimpse of the upcoming SUV but no noticeable change can be deduced from this teaser. The upcoming special edition model has been designed by the Indian teams at Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development.

This is the first time that Mercedes-Benz will come up with something exclusive for the Indian market. Customers can look forward to customized upholstery choices and distinctive exterior and interior trim elements inspired by Indian themes and aesthetics. Exclusive color options may also be included in the offering. Land Rover did something similar earlier this year when it launched the Range Rover Himalayan Edition, exclusive to India.
