Mercedes Benz India is all set to launch the AMG GT S in India on November 24, which is a more powerful version of the AMG GT – the spiritual successor of the SLS AMG. Already on sale in global markets, the Mercedes-AMG GT rivals the Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 911 and other cars in the performance segment. The vehicle is based on the shortened version of the SLS AMG’s platform which is claimed to be stiffer and lighter than the former.
Powering the Mercedes-AMG GT S is a 4.0-littre V8 twin-turbo V8 engine that comes mated to a 7-speed dual clutch Gertarg transmission. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 503bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 600Nm. As far as dimensions are concerned, the Mercedes-AMG GT S measures 4546mm in length, 1288mm in height, 1939mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2630mm. Though there is no official confirmation about its pricing, we expect the AMG GT S to be priced around Rs 3.5 crore – Rs 3.0 crore.
