Maruti Suzuki launched the Victoris a couple of days ago at a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The company’s new flagship Arena model made its debut earlier this month when it was revealed that the SUV has scored a 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP. Now, the Victoris added yet another feather to its hat by scoring a 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP as well.
This is the second Maruti car to secure a 5-star rating by Global NCAP after the fourth-gen Dzire which was launched in November last year. Let us compare how the two safety ratings for Maruti Victoris – Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP — are similar or different from each other.
Maruti Victoris | Global NCAP | Bharat NCAP |

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Global NCAP rating
As the table above indicates, like Bharat NCAP, the Victoris performed very well at the Global NCAP. In the frontal impact test, the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck received good protection. Chest protection was rated as adequate for the driver and good for the passenger, while knee protection was good for both occupants.

The driver’s left tibia and the passenger’s tibias showed good protection, with the driver’s right tibia rated adequate. The footwell area and bodyshell were assessed as stable and capable of withstanding additional loadings. In the side impact test, protection was good for the head, abdomen, and pelvis, while the chest received an adequate rating. In the side pole impact test, protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis was rated good.
In the child safety assessments, the seats for both the 3-year-old and 18-month-old dummies were installed in a rearward-facing position using ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg. Both dummies received full protection in the frontal and side impact tests.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Global NCAP vs Bharat NCAP
In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) assessments, the Maruti Victoris demonstrated comparable performance in the frontal offset deformable barrier tests conducted by both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. The only variance was observed in the driver’s left tibia, which was rated as offering adequate protection under Bharat NCAP, compared to a good rating under Global NCAP.

While the frontal collision results were largely consistent, differences emerged in the side movable deformable barrier test. At Global NCAP, chest protection was rated adequate, whereas Bharat NCAP rated it good. All other critical body regions were rated good by both agencies.
In the side pole impact tests, protection for all critical regions was assessed as good under both protocols. For Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Victoris achieved full points in both frontal and side impact tests across Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. However, the overall COP score was higher in Bharat NCAP, largely thanks to the differences in scoring methodology between the two agencies

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Safety Features
Maruti offers a long list of safety features with the Victoris such as six airbags as standard, 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold function, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and hill start assist.
