Maruti Suzuki India, via its Twitter handle, has announced a contest #NameTheNextSwift, and asked its followers to suggest a name for the new Swift limited edition. The company says that the Maruti Swift limited edition is ‘Stylish, Edgy and Sporty’. Speculations are on rife that the upcoming special edition could be the same accessorized Swift that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 in February.
On the exterior, the accessorized version features white racing stripes on hood, white wing mirror covers, number ‘10’ stickers on the boot lid, front and rear doors, black alloy wheels and a rear spoiler.
Inside, the car gets faux-leather seats with red and white inserts, a leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminium pedals, red stitching for the gear knob, red inserts on the door trim and dashboard, a front armrest and a touchscreen entertainment system. Â No mechanical changes will be made to the limited edition.
The Maruti Swift special edition will retain both the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines. While the former develops 83.11bhp and 115Nm of torque, the latter one is good for 74bhp with 190Nm. Transmission, too, will remain unchanged – i.e.  a 5-speed manual.
