Maruti Suzuki has issued a technical service bulletin for its off-road focused SUV, the Maruti Jimny, to replace the kingpin assembly on the front axle. As per the service advisory, the service action is for all variants of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The service action comes after several complaints regarding vibration felt in the steering while braking at a certain speed. Here are more details.

Maruti Suzuki’s technical service bulletin has been issued to change the kingpin assembly on the front axle of the Jimny. The assembly has been redesigned. After several complaints regarding vibrations while braking, Maruti Suzuki has found the reason and the replacement will be done free of cost.

According to the complaints received by Maruti Suzuki, there is a vibration from the front that is felt through the steering wheel while braking from 80kmph. The vibration disappears after the vehicle decelerates to 60kmph. There are no such vibrations below 60kmph.
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny was launched in India after many years of speculation and the SUV competes with the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha and is a versatile off-roader. Powering the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 102bhp with the help of a manual or an automatic gearbox. While the Jimny was available as a three-door variant in global markets, it was re-engineered and launched as a five-door variant first in India in 2023.
