Maruti Suzuki India Limited has extended its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to eight villages near its upcoming greenfield facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The move is part of the company’s broader vision to empower local communities and elevate living standards by focusing on education, infrastructure, healthcare, and sanitation.
Boosting Education & Infrastructure
The company, in collaboration with the Department of Education, Sonipat, has established two fully equipped libraries at government schools in Rohna and Thana Kalan. These libraries, featuring over 2,100 textbooks, digital resources, and dedicated study areas, aim to promote reading and digital literacy among 600 students.
The initiative was marked by an official inauguration at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Rohna, attended by Dr. Manoj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Sonipat, and Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer at Maruti Suzuki.

In addition, Maruti Suzuki has constructed new classrooms in schools at Kundal and Rampur villages and installed solar energy units in schools at Kundal and Saidpur. These improvements are benefiting over 500 students from several surrounding areas. To further enhance village connectivity, especially during monsoons, the company has also developed paver block roads, improving access to key highways.
Driving Sustainable & Inclusive Growth
These initiatives reflect Maruti Suzuki’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a target to improve the lives of nearly 19,000 residents in the region, the CSR efforts underscore the company’s long-term dedication to inclusive growth.
Speaking about the expansiion, Bharti stated, “Kharkhoda is not just a manufacturing milestone for Maruti Suzuki, but also an opportunity to uplift communities. Through focused initiatives, we aim to positively impact not just our employees and vendors, but the broader community as well.”
These projects build upon Maruti Suzuki’s extensive CSR work around its other facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, and Rohtak, further reinforcing its role as a socially responsible corporate leader. As the Kharkhoda facility gears up to become a major manufacturing hub, the surrounding communities are set to benefit from sustained and meaningful development
