Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its first electric vehicle in the form of e Vitara which made its global debut at EICMA in Milan in November last year followed by its debut in India earlier this year at Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Units of the electric SUV have started reaching dealership yards across the country February onwards.
Now, the SUV is being displayed inside Nexa showrooms hinting an imminent market launch is just around the corner. A recent video uploaded on YouTube channel Engine With EVs has confirmed that the e Vitara is now open for display in certain Nexa showrooms. Unofficial pre-bookings for the electric SUV are currently underway in select dealerships.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Exterior Design
The e Vitara embodies Suzuki’s new “High-Tech & Adventure” design philosophy, inspired by the concept of an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser.” It features a bold front fascia with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamp cluster, a striking front bumper with built-in fog lamps, and sleek extended LED tail lamps.
From the side, the e Vitara sports pronounced wheel arches and cleverly integrated rear door handles positioned within the C-pillar. These arches house stylish 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the rear, the tailgate is highlighted by a silver-finished Suzuki emblem and an e Vitara badge.
Maruti will offer the e Vitara in 10 striking color options—6 mono-tone and 4 dual-tone. The mono-tone shades include Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Opulent Red, and Bluish Black. The dual-tone combinations are: Arctic White with a Bluish Black roof, Opulent Red with a Bluish Black roof, Splendid Silver with a Bluish Black roof, and Land Breeze Green with a Bluish Black roof.

Inside, the e Vitara features a stylish dual-tone cabin highlighted by dark grey accents on the door panels and surrounding the air vents. A sleek two-spoke steering wheel, a large floating infotainment display, and a fully digital driver’s instrument cluster create a modern, tech-forward ambiance.
The center console is thoughtfully laid out, featuring physical controls for climate settings, a rotary volume knob, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and selectable drive modes. The AllGrip-e variant enhances capability with added functions like Trail mode and hill descent control.

On the safety front, the e Vitara is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, providing a comprehensive layer of protection for every journey.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Powertrain
Built on the all-new Heartect-e platform—co-developed with Toyota—the e Vitara integrates an advanced eAxle that combines the motor and inverter with lithium-iron-phosphate battery technology. Engineered for responsive performance, it delivers quick acceleration from a standstill and confident overtaking across a range of speeds.

The e Vitara will be available in two battery configurations: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 49 kWh version is offered exclusively with a 2WD setup, while the 61 kWh variant comes in both 2WD (single-motor) and AWD (dual-motor) options.
Performance figures vary across variants:

- 61 kWh (2WD): 172 bhp and 189 Nm of torque
- 61 kWh (AWD): 181 bhp and a robust 300 Nm of torque
The AWD configuration sits at the top of the range, delivering enhanced traction and dynamic performance.
