Maruti Suzuki presented its first electric vehicle— the e Vitara — to the public at the Auto Expo earlier in January this year. Earlier expected to launch at the start of 2025, the launch was pushed to September this year. Now, we have got hold of the exact launch date for the electric SUV.
As per the “Block Your Date” sent to us, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to launch in India on September 3. The made-in-India Suzuki e Vitara made its official debut in the United Kingdom earlier last month. Meanwhile, the e Vitara has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times in the last few months.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Design & Colour Options
The e Vitara embodies Suzuki’s new “High-Tech & Adventure” design philosophy, rooted in the concept of an Emotional Versatile Cruiser. It sports distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs integrated into the headlamp cluster, extended LED tail lamps, and a bold front bumper housing neatly positioned fog lamps.

The profile is marked by prominent wheel arches and rear door handles subtly integrated into the C-pillar for a clean look. Completing the design are 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the rear, the tailgate features a silver-accented Suzuki emblem and an “e Vitara” badge.
Maruti will offer the e Vitara in a wide palette of 10 colour options—6 mono-tone and 4 dual-tone. The mono-tone shades include Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Opulent Red, and Bluish Black. The dual-tone variants are Arctic White with a Bluish Black roof, Opulent Red with a Bluish Black roof, Splendid Silver with a Bluish Black roof, and Land Breeze Green with a Bluish Black roof.

It also offers premium comforts such as front ventilated seats and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Notably, the e Vitara will be the first Maruti Suzuki model in India to come equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

In terms of safety, the SUV is well-equipped with up to seven airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more advanced safety technologies.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Powertrain specs
The e Vitara is underpinned by the newly developed Heartect-e platform, co-engineered with Toyota. It features an integrated eAxle that combines the electric motor and inverter, powered by lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries. Engineered for responsive performance, the setup ensures brisk acceleration from a standstill and effortless overtaking at varying speeds.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the e Vitara with two battery options—49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 49 kWh variant is available exclusively with a 2WD setup and produces 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh version comes in two configurations: a single-motor 2WD delivering 172 bhp and 189 Nm, and a dual-motor AWD variant—positioned at the top of the range—offering 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.
