At the recent sales call, R C Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki announced that the much-awaited e Vitara will be launched in September. According to a report by Auto Express, the online automotive website has come across performance figures of the e Vitara and its charging time.
Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle will be available in two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The fresh details reveal that the top spec 61 kWh charges from 0 – 80% in 45 minutes via a DC charger. With an expected range of over 500 km, the e Vitara does 100 kmph from standstill within 8.7 seconds. The 49 kWh e Vitara, on the other hand, accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds.

The e Vitara will come with two battery options: a 49 kWh unit delivering 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque with a single motor, and a 61 kWh version producing 172 bhp with the same torque, also using a single motor. It will offer multiple drive modes — Eco, Normal and Sport.Â

Maruti Suzuki’s flagship boasts features like dual digital screens, a 10.1-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch instrument console, along with ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, sliding and reclining seats, USB and Type-C charging ports for both rows.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Safety
The e Vitara marks Maruti Suzuki’s first vehicle with Level 2 ADAS safety features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive High Beam System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Active Cornering Control, and Multi-Collision Braking. It comes equipped with 7 airbags, including a driver knee airbag, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with brake hold, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and an Emergency Call with SOS button. Additionally, the Acoustic Vehicle Alarm System (AVAS) activates at low speeds to alert pedestrians and cyclists of the e Vitara’s presence.
