Toyota launched its most affordable vehicle in the Indian market, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, starting at Rs 7.74 lakh, ex-showroom. The Toyota coupe SUV is at least Rs 22,000 more expensive than the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The bookings for the Taisor have already begun, and deliveries will begin in May.
Toyota Taisor: Design and Features
The Taisor’s design is the same as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It gets a thick chrome bar on the front fascia, but the Toyota coupe SUV gets a new honeycomb grille. It sports the split headlight design and gets twin horizontal LED DRLs, unlike the Fronx’s three-pronged ones. The side profile is identical to the Fronx with a sloping roofline and comes standard with 16-inch tyres and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels for the higher trims. The rear has sleek connected LED tail lamps with skid plates in front and rear.

The interiors are dual-tone in colour, and the variant gets a 9-inch infotainment system with an Arkamys sound system. The mid-level trims come with a 7-inch touch screen, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard features.
The Taisor comes packed with safety features like a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, six air bags, a head-up display, etc.
Toyota Taisor: Engine Options
Like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Taisor is available in two engines: the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and the 1-litre turbo-petrol. The NA powertrain has an output of 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. As it is based on the Fronx, we have mentioned fuel economy figures revealed by Maruti Suzuki.

The turbo-petrol engine churns out 99 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque. It is also available in two transmissions: a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
There is also a single CNG variant, which costs Rs 8.72 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, and is powered by the 1.2-litre engine, which produces 76.4 bhp and 98.5 Nm of torque. It is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
