
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS has seen a significant drop in its prices thanks to National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP). Under the scheme, the hybrid version of the Maruti Ciaz gets benefited with almost 50 per cent reduction in its excise duty. As against the earlier excise duty of 24 per cent, the Ciaz Hybrid now attracts 12.5 per cent. The outright capital benefit received, due to reduction in excise duty, has been directly transferred to consumers to bring down the cost of vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz diesel features a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine paired to the company’s SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) system. Suzuki’s mild hybrid system is an integration of starter generator, start-stop technology and a larger capacity battery, which helps it return an impressive mileage of 28.09km/l.
With reduced prices, the Ciaz’s entry-level diesel variant costs Rs 1.62 lakh cheaper than its closest rival – Honda City. While the sticker price of Rs 9.49 lakh on the top diesel trim of the Ciaz is Rs 2.91 lakh cheaper than the Honda City top-end variant.
