Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has joined hands with Warner Bros for launching a limited edition ‘Batman’ variant of its electric SUV BE 6. Only 300 units of the car will be produced.
M&M has priced the BE 6 Batman Edition at Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom) without charger and installation cost. Its bookings will commence on August 23 while deliveries will start from September 20, which is also celebtrated as International Batman Day.
M&M’s two new electric vehicles
The BE 6 is one of the two new electric vehicles which M&M had launched a few months ago. It is also the first vehicle which is developed from scratch as an EV unlike its previous launch which was a petrol SUV converted into an EV. The BE 6 range starts at Rs 21.9 lakh.
The Batman Edition will have the 79 kWh battery pack having a maximum range of 683 km on a full charge. It is priced nearly Rs 90,000 more than the top-end variant of the BE 6 (without the charger).
Batman edition’s exterior details
The Batman edition will feature, satin black colour, custom Batman decal on front doors, R20 alloy wheels, alchemy gold-painted suspension and the Batman emblem on a number of areas on the inside and outside of the car.
Pratap Bose, chief design and creative officer – auto and farm sectors, M&M said, “With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further, to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history.”
M&M is the third largest EV maker in the passenger vehicle space with monthly retail volumes of around 3,000 units. Besides the BE 6, the company has XEV 9e and the XUV 400 in the EV category.
