Mahindra unveiled the first two of its Electric Origin SUVs in November 2024 in the form of BE 6 and XEV 9e. Bookings of selected variants of BE 6 and XEV 7e will begin from 14 February 2025. The next Electric Origin SUV in the pipeline will most likely be the XEV 7e. Test mules of the fully electric SUV have been spied on multiple occasions in recent months.
Essentially the all-electric equivalent of the XUV700, trademark for the XEV 7e was filed by Mahindra a couple of months ago. Ahead of its possible unveiling at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, details of the battery-powered SUV have leaked on the internet.
In a recent leaked video, the production-spec version of XEV 7e has been revealed. Although the video appears to be more of a simulation, the details attached are likely to be the same as that of the production-spec model. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the XUV 700, there are plenty of styling tweaks the XEV 7e gets over the XUV 700.
Mahindra XEV 7e: Exterior tweaks
For instance, the XEV 7e gets a blanked-out front grille, flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps and L-shaped LED DRLs that extend across the width of the bonnet. The silhouette of the XEV 7e looks like a replica of the ICE-powered Mahindra XUV 700 with a clean and understated side profile. It rolls on more aerodynamic wheels designed to reduce drag, which will improve efficiency and range.
At the rear, the setup is very similar to the XUV700 with identical LED taillights connected to each other by an LED stripe and chrome trim on the faux diffuser in the rear bumper. The video also shares a small glimpse of its interiors as well which is most likely to be in sync with the XEV 9e, the only difference being the three-row seating arrangement in the XEV 7e with captain seats in the middle and third row.
