Mahindra has gained a new breath of life ever since the launch of the second-gen Mahindra Thar followed by XUV700 and Scorpio N. The XUV700, especially, has been a raging success with waiting periods stretching anything between 18 and 24 months. Launched in 2001, Mahindra has produced 200,000 units of the mid-size SUV till date.
It took the carmaker 33 months to achieve this feat. In order to celebrate this milestone, Mahindra has introduced two new colour schemes namely Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna to the XUV700 lineup. The latter is exclusive to the XUV700 only. Overall, there are nine paint schemes on offer with the XUV700 range.
Mahindra XUV700: Features
Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most feature-packed SUVs in its segment with class-leading gizmos such as a 26.03 cm twin-screen setup, Alexa Built-In Functionality, and Level 2 ADAS to name a few. Other novelties on offer include a 6-way power driver’s seat, and a 12-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, memory ORVMs, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, etc.

In terms of safety, XUV700 offers features like up to seven airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX anchors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to name a few. XUV700 is also one of safest cars in the Indian market with the SUV scoring a 5-star safety rating at Global NCAP in 2022. It secured a 5-star rating for adult occupancy and 4-star rating for child occupancy.
Mahindra XUV700: Powertrain specs & Price
Mahindra XUV700 comes equipped with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre mStallion diesel. The former pumps out 197bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the diesel mill delivers 182 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. Both engine options are offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter gearbox. Meanwhile, the top-spec diesel variants also get the option of an all-wheel drive system.

Mahindra offers the XUV700 in seven variants namely– MX, AX3, AX5, AX5 Select, AX7, AX7 Luxury, and AX7 Luxury Blaze Edition. Prices for the XUV700 range between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
