The festive spirit has no doubt added a spark to the auto sales in October. Mahindra & Mahindra clocked sales of 43,708 vehicles compared to 32,298 passenger vehicles sold last October, a growth of 35% YoY. Even compared to September, the October sales were up 6% from 41,267 vehicles sold the previous month.
In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra recorded the highest sales for the fourth consecutive month led by Scorpio-N, XUV700, Thar. In October, the company sold 43,708 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 35% YoY and overall, 44,264 vehicles, including exports.

According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, “In October, we clocked the highest ever volumes at 80,679 vehicles, a growth of 32%. Both SUVs and CVs individually achieved highest ever volumes for the third consecutive month at 43,708 and 25,715 vehicles respectively. While the strong festive demand should see us continue our growth momentum in November, we will keep a close watch of select supply related challenges.”
M&M said its total exports declined 33 per cent last month at 1854 units from 2755 last October. It has also slipped significantly from the 2,419 units exported in September.
