It’s widely known that Mahindra is set to flood the market with electric SUVs in the coming years. Some of these EVs will be based on existing internal combustion engine platforms, while others are being designed from scratch as entirely new offerings. The BE.05, a born-electric vehicle, has recently been spotted during testing.
Mahindra BE.05: Cabin features
Based on the latest spy video of the BE.05 shows the cabin of the EV SUV. Like in the concept, the test vehicle comes with twin digital displays merged into the dashboard. The more premium models from Mahindra are expected to sport three screens covering the entire dash. The flat bottom steering wheel looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie and gets multiple backlit buttons and toggles.
Mahindra BE.05: Design
The BE.05 is a mid-size SUV and will take on the recently launched Tata Curvv. Based on the dimensions revealed for the concept, the production-ready vehicle could measure 4,370mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,635mm in height. Based on the video, the front fascia of the BE.05 gets long C-shaped LED DRLs and sleek razor-sharp LED headlights. The design is aggressive and muscular, which will appeal to SUV buyers. The rear gets C-shaped connected tail lights that end above the bumper.
Mahindra BE.05: Powertrain
BE.05 could be available in two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive systems. Based on the all-electric INGLO platform and will offer a single and dual motor layout and could be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack and offer a 500 km driving range in a single charge.
