
Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the E-Class long wheelbase version or the E-Class L in India today. This will be the first long wheelbase car in its segment that competes with the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6. Global unveil of the E-Class L (codenamed V213) took place at the recently concluded Auto China 2016 and it was expected to be introduced in India by March 2017. However, the German carmaker is ahead of its schedule and launching the new E-Class L in the country today. Unlike the standard E-Class, the long wheelbase version will have controls for the rear sunblind, the window blinds and the sunroof which can be operated by the second-row passenger. 12:08 PM: The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class L will be offered with a 12.3 inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the infotainment system is not a touchscreen and has to be used through the controls on the centre console. The audio system is a 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system.
