Citroen recently announced that former India cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has been appointed as the company’s official brand ambassador in India. A proclaimed automobile aficionado, Dhoni’s induction as Citroen’s brand ambassador coincides with the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 currently underway in the USA and West Indies.
The French carmaker announced the launch of the special Dhoni Edition of Citroen C3 and C Aircross in India last week. This new special iteration for both models will be available in limited units. The company has now shared a teaser of the special edition C3 Aircross on its social media handles.
Citroen C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition: What’s new?
The new Dhoni Edition of Citroen C3 Aircross will be cosmetically different from the standard version. The biggest highlights are the new stripped-design ‘7’ decals on the rear door panels, and ‘Dhoni Edition’ graphics on the front doors. For the uninitiated, Dhoni is often associated with the number 7 since it is considered his lucky number for multiple reasons.
He also used to wear the same jersey number throughout his career as an India player as well as for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Coming back to the special edition C3 Aircross, expect some cosmetic changes inside the cabin as well including the number 7 being used imprinted on some places. We can also expect a few additional features added in the equipment too.
Moreover, buyers of the C3 Aircross Dhoni edition will get a chance to win assured merchandise in collaboration with MS Dhoni. The latest teaser from Citroen on social media says “there’s something special in the glovebox of the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition” for the buyers.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Features & specs
The Dhoni Edition of Citroen C3 Aircross offers a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual air conditioner, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. In terms of safety, it will offer features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability program (ESP), and a rearview camera.
The special Dhoni Edition of C3 Aircross will get the same powertrain option, i.e., a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine which punches out 109 bhp and 190 Nm (205 Nm in AT) of peak torque. Transmission duties are carried out either by a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
