Kia Sonet has achieved yet another significant milestone surpassing 400,000 sales in both domestic and overseas markets in under 44 months. Out of total no.of sales 317,754 units were sold domestically, while an additional 85,814 units were dispatched to overseas markets. This subcompact SUV is priced between Rs 7.99 lakhs and Rs 15.7 lakhs.
Kia Sonet recently recieved four new HTE(O) and HTK (O) variants in Diesel and Petrol engine options equipped with features like LED-connected taillamps, Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), and Rear Defogger.
Commenting on Sonet’s success, Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “The compact SUV segment presents a big opportunity, with many first-time buyers entering the segment directly. Sonet is our second-best innovation, and it has captured their imagination perfectly. It offers them a futuristic, tech-enabled, comfortable mobility solution designed very well and with low ownership costs.”

The most preferable Kia Sonet is its sunroof variant which contributes 63% to the sales, moving towards engine preference, Sonet’s powerful 1.5L diesel engine is preferred by 37% of its customers whereas petrol engine variants add 63% to the overall sales. Kia has also observed a growing interest in the automatic variant with a 37.5% increase in its 7DCT transmission. Currently, automatic options contribute 28% while the iMT maintains a steady 23% share.
Kia Sonet has been a popular choice amongst youngsters with an average sales of 9,000 units per month. It was refreshed again in January 2024, when it got segment-best ADAS, a new-age design, and 70 connected features, which helped it command a 14% share in the highly competitive CSUV segment in Q1 CY2024
