It was recently revealed that Kia will be launching two of its flagship models in India– the all-new Carnival and the EV9. As of now, the Korean brand has only one electric vehicle (EV) in its Indian fleet in the form of the fully-imported EV6. Launched in India in 2022 as a CBU, Kia EV6 is priced starting at Rs 60.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The facelifted version of EV6 made its global debut earlier in May this year. Now, Kia is planning to launch the updated iteration of the electric crossover in India soon. Apparently, Kia has filed design patents for the EV6 facelift in India. This indicates a very likely market launch in the future.

Kia EV6 facelift: What to expect?

Starting with its exterior, the EV6 facelift will get a reworked front fascia with triangular-shaped LED DRLs and a reprofiled front bumper with a new air dam. At the rear, the design is expected to remain mostly similar with a connected LED stripe running across the ducktail-shaped boot lid spoiler. It retains the low-slung stance from the current model with a flattish roofline. We expect Kia to offer new 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a star pattern.

Inside the cabin, the updated EV6 is expected to receive subtle updates such as a new dual-tone steering wheel with an offset logo, a digital IRVM, and a 12-inch Head-up display. Kia will carry forward the same twin 12.3-inch curved panoramic screens for the touchscreen infotainment and the digital instrument console, although the operating system is likely to be updated.

Underneath, Kia has also brought in a larger 84 kWh battery pack replacing the 77.4 kWh unit in the outgoing model. Although Kia has not yet disclosed the detailed specifications for the updated range, the updated EV6 will carry forward the 350kW DC fast charging capability. This allows the model to rapidly recharge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes.

The electric crossover is available in both single-motor, rear-wheel drive version and a dual-motor all-wheel drive version. The single motor variant generates 225 bhp and 350 Nm while the dual-motor AWD trim dishes out 320 bhp and 605 Nm of torque.
