Jaguar has expanded its F-Type range in India by adding the SVR Coupe and Convertible models. The F-Type SVR has been launched in India at a price of Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom) for the Coupe and Rs 2.63 crore (ex-showroom) for the Convertible. The Jaguar F-Type SVR is made by the company’s Special Vehicle Operations division. Both models are equipped with features such as lightweight titanium and Inconel exhaust that reduced the weight of the vehicle by 16 kg. The 20-inch forged alloy wheels save up to 13.8 kg of weight. Not only this, the company has also equipped the vehicle with lightweight material for the suspension, carbon ceramic brakes that have further reduced the overall weight of the F-Type SVR. The car also gets carbon fibre rear aerodynamic wing, SVR performance seats and heated SVR leather steering wheel with aluminium gearshift paddles.
The new F-Type SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine that develops 575 hp of power at 6,500 rpm and 700 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The luxury car manufacturer has tuned the engine, resulting in an increase in power by 25 hp and raised torque by 20 Nm in comparison to the F-Type R model. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and it uses a four-wheel-drive system with Electronic Active Differential that increases traction and stability.
The F-Type SVR Coupe can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and does a top speed of 322 kph. The F-Type SVR Convertible, on the other hand, attains 100 kph in 3.7 seconds but does a claimed top-speed of 314 kph. The difference in top speed figures can be attributed to weight. The convertible weighs in at about 1,720 kg, slightly heavier than the Coupe at 1,705 kg.
The standard equipment includes navigation Pro, Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), Touch Pro for entertainment with Meridian 380 W Sound System and 10 speakers as well as Torque Vectoring that helps the car manoeuvre in tight corners.
