Nissan Magnite is the most affordable sub-4 metre SUV in India. Currently, the only mainstay product for Nissan in the country, the made-in-India Magnite is shipped to many other markets. Nissan manufactures both the right hand drive (RHD) and left hand drive (LHD) derivatives of Magnite in India at the Oragadam-based facility near Chennai.

One prominent LHD market for Nissan is Saudi Arabia where the Magnite is sold. The Japanese carmaker has now issued a recall for the Nissan Magnite sold in Saudi Arabia but made in India. This recall has affected a total of 1,552 units of the subcompact crossover. It must be noted that Nissan launched a mild facelift of the Magnite in December last year and showcased the both RHD and LHD versions of this vehicle side by side.

Nissan Magnite recall: Faulty brakes

In fact Saudi Arabia was the first market to receive the LHV version of the new Nissan Magnite. According to RushLane, the India-made units of Magnite have been recalled by the brand over potential braking issues. In its recall draft, Nissan stated that the braking defect elevates the risk of an accident, necessitating prompt and corrective action.

According to the report, the latest recall with the reference number 25100, was announced by Nissan on 9 September 2025. The recall focuses on the updated Magnite’s brakes. The report highlights that the clearance between the brake pipe and the heat shield may be inadequate, potentially reducing brake pedal effectiveness and increasing the risk of an accident.

Nissan explained that this insufficient clearance could cause the brake pipe to come into contact with the heat shield. This condition could potentially cause damage and brake fluid leakage, which may either activate a brake warning message on the instrument cluster or lead to diminished braking performance.

The company has reportedly announced that all necessary repairs will be undertaken by Nissan free of cost. The carmaker has advised all Magnite owners in Saudi Arabia to get in touch with their nearest authorised Nissan service centre for an immediate fix. Nissan hasn’t announced a recall for the Magnite units on sale in India yet.
