Hyundai is working on expanding its green mobility solutions which includes EVs as well as CNG models. The Korean carmaker has added a new EX variant to the Exter CNG lineup. Priced at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom), the new EX variant is now the entry-level variant to the Exter CNG and comes with the Dual-cylinder technology.
Commenting on this launch, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “The introduction of the EX variant in the Hyundai EXTER Hy-CNG Duo lineup is a testament to our customer-centric approach, ensuring that smart mobility is accessible to a wider audience. With its efficient bi-fuel technology, enhanced safety features and Hyundai’s signature reliability, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo EX variant offers an optimal balance of affordability and efficiency.”
Prior to his development, the most affordable Hyundai Exter CNG was the Exter S Executive trim priced at Rs 8.56 lakh (ex-showroom), which comes with the older single CNG tank. The new Exter Hy-CNG Duo EX trim comes equipped with features such as a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch central MID, signature H-shaped LED taillamps, driver seat height adjustment, keyless entry, etc. Safety is handled by six airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.
Hyundai Exter CNG powertrain
The Exter CNG derives power from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine which kicks out 68 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variants of Exter are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. In the petrol guise, the same engine pushes out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque and can also be had with a 5-speed AMT.
