Hyundai has unveiled the facelifted version of the Creta at 2017 Chengdu Auto Show. The Creta is sold as the ix25 in China. As reported earlier, the current generation Hyundai Creta will be going through a mid-life makeover and a facelifted version of the SUV can be expected by 2018. The Creta, in its current generation, has garnered much popularity in India, the testimony of the same is the huge sales figures since its launch in 2015. The Creta facelift has been given several cosmetics updates including redesigned bumpers and has the signature hexagonal four-slat front grille. In terms of engine and transmission options, the facelifted version of the Creta is expected to remain the same with a set of petrol and diesel engine options with their respective automatic and manual transmission.
Under the bonnet, there will be a 1.4-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission, while a larger 1.6-litre diesel unit is expected to come with a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Another petrol option is also expected to be offered with a 1.6-litre unit mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The cabin is expected to feature a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and Radio playback along with Bluetooth audio streaming. Along with the infotainment system, the 2018 Creta will also be offered with an automatic climate control, steering mounted audio control as well as cruise control. These features, however, will be restricted to the higher variants.
The expected price of the facelifted Creta will be at a slight premium compared to the existing model. However, with the introduction of minor tweaks in the South Koren carmaker’s SUV sold in India, the company would garner an equal amount of popularity provided it stays ahead of its competitors.
