The leader in the midsize SUV segment, the Hyundai Creta, is going green this January as it prepares to enter the electric vehicle market. Ahead of its official launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi this month, the company has unveiled the much-anticipated EV SUV specifications. Hyundai has also revealed details about the battery options. So, sit back and get ready as we bring you everything you need to know about the new Creta Electric.
Hyundai Creta EV: Battery Specifications
The rumour mills have been buzzing over the Creta Electric battery packs for a while now. Hyundai has now officially revealed that the SUV will be available in two options — a 42 kWh and a long-range 51.4 kWh. Hyundai claims that the latter does 0 – 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds and has a range of ARAI-rated 473 km.

The entry-level version returns an ARAI-rated range of 390 km. According to the company, the Creta Electric can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 58 minutes with DC charging, while the 11kW AC home charger can juice up from 10 per cent to 100 per cent in 4 hours. Â
Hyundai Creta EV: Exteriors
Hyundai has retained the design of the Creta ICE and sports the front fascia of the N Line version with connected L-shaped LED DRLs, vertically stacked twin LED headlights and unique active air flaps tucked inside the front bumper to keep the temperature of components down like the battery.
The charging port is placed behind the Hyundai logo on the front grille. The new set of 17-inch alloy wheels are aerodynamically designed specifically for the Creta Electric. Moving on to the rear, the SUV retains the same connected LED lights with an electric badge but the bumper gets a new pixelated design.Â
Hyundai Creta EV: Interiors
The cabin layout remains on the same lines as the ICE version of the Creta. It continues to sport a twin 10.25-inch screen — the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Based on the TVC, the interiors continue to be dual-tone in colour, though the Creta Electric comes with a new three-spoke steering wheel like the Ioniq 5, but the drive control stalk is different.

It will get multiple driving modes, a panoramic sunroof and a regenerative braking system offering a one-pedal driving option. Offers Vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, enabling users to power external devices both inside and outside the vehicle, transforming it into a portable power source for added convenience and versatility.
In terms of safety, it will get six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC) and much more.
Hyundai Creta EV: Variants and Rivals
The Creta Electric will be available in four variants – Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence. The EV SUV gets ten colour options including eight monotone and two dual-tone colour options including three in matte finish. Hyundai will launch a new ocean blue metallic with a black roof.

The Creta EV is expected to start from Rs 20 lakh onwards and will take on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV.
