The latest iteration of IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany has been host to some of the most exotic vehicles and concepts. One of them was the Concept Three, one of the few next-gen electric vehicle (EV) concepts that holds great significance for Hyundai. A compact electric hatchback, the Concept Three is expected to be a preview to the upcoming Ioniq 3.
Hyundai Concept Three: Exterior
This concept is expected to go into production by 2026. Based on Hyundai’s new “Art of Steel” language, the Concept Three gets a sculpted body made of the company’s steel. The profile indicates enhanced focus on aerodynamics with its distinctive roofline combined with a vertical tailgate.

The front and rear ends are dominated by parametric pixel lighting, giving the car a futuristic look, like any other pre-production concept. Another extravagant visual detail are the gullwing-style rear doors which Hyundai says may not make it to the production-spec model. Similarly highlights such as oversized wheels, lemon-tinted windows and massive rear diffuser aren’t likely to be carried forward in the final model.
As for dimensions, the Concept Three measures 4,287 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, 1,428 mm in height, and gets a 2,722 mm wheelbase. This puts it in the same ballpark as the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Hyundai Concept Three: Interiors
Inside the cabin, Hyundai has used sustainable materials such as ocean waste textiles and lightweight aluminum foam in sync with the company’s long-term vision to reduce environmental impact. The cabin dons a dual-tone interior theme featuring grey and bright yellow shades, keeping the recent trend of minimalism alive with only a handful of physical buttons for key functions like climate control.

The dashboard follows a minimalist layout, featuring two compact displays positioned high above the octagonal steering wheel instead of a central touchscreen. Ambient lighting is integrated into the dashboard and door panels, while a long centre console separates the front seats. Being a dedicated EV, it also benefits from a fully flat floor without a rear transmission hump.
Hyundai Concept Three: Expected Specs
Technical specifications for the Hyundai Concept Three are still in the dark. However, it is likely to be based on the 400V E-GMP electric architecture, and utilise the same 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh battery options as Kia EV3. For reference, the EV3 claims a WLTP range of up to 600 km.
