Hyundai launched the facelifted Alcazar last week which had a fair share of updates over the outgoing version. It continues to compete against the likes of other three-row mid-size SUVs such as Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus. Mahindra XUV700 comfortably leads in power with its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 197 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. This makes it the most powerful of the trio. The XUV700 offers a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. It’s well-suited for those looking for high power and torque in their 3-row SUV​.

On the other hand, MG Hector Plus uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 141 bhp and 250 Nm. It offers a 6-speed manual, and a CVT automatic gearbox as transmission options. Although its power output is the lowest among the trio, the Hector Plus compensates with a mild-hybrid system for better fuel efficiency. This makes it an attractive option for tech-savvy drivers interested in eco-friendly alternatives.
And finally, Hyundai Alcazar gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

The prices of the petrol version of Alcazar start at Rs 14.99 lakh, while prices for the petrol variants of Hector Plus start at Rs 18.29 lakh. For Mahindra XUV700, prices for the three-row petrol-powered versions start at Rs 14.49 lakh. Top-spec prices of the petrol-powered Alcazar, Hector Plus, and XUV700 stands at Rs 21.55 lakh, Rs 22.93 lakh, and Rs 25.93 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
