The new Alcazar is more than a cosmetic update

The Hyundai Alcazar is one of Hyundai’s newest products in its range, and the seven-seater already saw a mid-life update in terms of a new engine. Now, Hyundai is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the Alcazar, which will make its debut on September 9.

Hyundai Alcazar design — New vs Old

One of the biggest updates the new Hyundai Alcazar gets is in terms of design. The updated Alcazar follows Hyundai’s global SUV design language with H-shaped DRLs and a vertically stacked headlight design. Towards the rear, the tail lamps also take a squarish shape, with the two lamps being connected with a bar across the boot. The alloy wheels also get an updated design.

Hyundai Alcazar interior and features — New vs Old

The interior of the Alcazar facelift is similar to the Creta that was updated earlier this year. The Alcazar gets dual 10.25-inch screens that are joined. One is the infotainment system while the other is the digital instrument cluster. The air vents have been moved slightly to accommodate the new design and the updated seven-seater looks more upmarket.

In terms of features, one can expect the entire list from the Creta update on this. The Alcazar will get wireless smartphone connectivity, ADAS Level 2, cooled rear seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and redesigned rear seats for more comfort and space for passengers to be seated and to move on to the third row.

Hyundai Alcazar engine specifications — New vs Old

The older version of the Hyundai Alcazar was offered in petrol and diesel trims and so will be the case with the updated version. Hyundai will offer the new Alcazar with a 1.5-litre diesel mill and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. The former makes 113bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the latter makes 158bhp and 253Nm of torque.
