Hyundai has announced the launch date for the facelifted Alcazar in India. The South Korean carmaker will introduce the updated Alcazar on September 12 which is expected to receive some cosmetic and feature upgrades over the existing model. Essentially a seven-seat version of Creta, the Alcazar was first launched in India in 2021.
In recent months, test mules of the updated Alcazar have been spied on multiple occasions. Upon launch, it will continue to rival three-row midsize SUVs such as MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Expected Exterior
The upcoming Alcazar is expected to borrow design cues from the facelifted Creta, featuring a sleek new front grille with three horizontal slats, LED daytime running lights integrated below the bonnet shut lines, and a distinctive split headlight design with twin-pod LED headlights. The front and rear bumpers will also sport a silver finish on the lower lip, echoing the Creta’s design language.

In terms of colour options, the 2024 Alcazar is set to introduce new shades, including a deep maroon or red hue, as seen on a previous test mule. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, the Alcazar will ride on newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels, adding a touch of sophistication. The heavily camouflaged rear section suggests that the SUV will receive a new set of LED tail light clusters, further enhancing its visual appeal.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Expected Interiors & Features
Although we haven’t had a glimpse inside the new Alcazar’s cabin, it’s likely to retain the same layout as the recently facelifted Creta. Expect a familiar twin-screen setup, featuring dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation. It will likely be offered in both six- and seven-seat configurations, with the former boasting captain seats in the middle row for enhanced comfort.

The feature list is expected to be comprehensive, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree surround camera, and electrically adjustable driver seats. However, the biggest addition to the updated Alcazar will be Level 2 ADAS consisting of features like forward collision-avoidance Assist for cars, pedestrians, cycles, blind spot collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, smart cruise control etc.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Expected Engine Specs
The upcoming iteration of Hyundai Alcazar is anticipated to retain its existing engine lineup, comprising a 1.5-liter GDI turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter CRDI diesel unit. The petrol engine boasts an impressive output of 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine delivers 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
In terms of transmission, both engines are likely to retain their current options, with a 6-speed manual gearbox serving as the standard choice. Additionally, a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission will be available for the petrol engine, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic will be offered for the diesel engine.
