
Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), today announced a voluntary recall of 1,90,578 vehicles for replacement of Takata front airbag inflators. Models covered under the recall include previous generations of Accord, Civic, CR-V, City & Jazz. This activity is part of Honda’s global recall campaign involving Takata front airbag inflators.
The replacement process will be carried out in a phased manner at the company’s dealerships across the country. CR-V and Civic owners can look at immediate replacement while owners of the remaining models will need to wait till September, 2016. The company will contact the customers and replace the discussed part free of cost.
Customers can check their vehicle’s coverage in this recall by by submitting their 17-character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a special microsite available on http://www.hondacarindia.com.
