After a series of official teasers and spy videos, the third-generation Honda Amaze has officially made its debut, with prices starting from Rs 8 lakh and going up to Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). These introductory prices are valid for the next 45 days. Honda has already opened bookings for the sedan, with deliveries scheduled to begin in January. The Amaze is available in three variants—V, VX, and ZX—and comes equipped with class-leading features, particularly in the safety department.

Honda will face tough competition as it takes on the segment leader, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which is priced between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Beyond the pricing, the Dzire has an additional advantage over the Amaze with its CNG variant offering. The Dzire’s manual variants are priced from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh, while the Amaze’s manual range starts at Rs 8 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.70 lakh (all ex-showroom). Honda pairs the Amaze with a CVT automatic transmission, which is priced between Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh, while the Dzire AMT is priced from Rs 8.24 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

New Honda Amaze: Engine
The third-generation Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with an output of 88.5 bhp at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. The Amaze is available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The latter also comes with paddle shifters. According to Honda, the manual version returns 18.65 kmpl and CVT offers 19.46 kmpl.

The Amaze is the first sedan in its segment to offer Level 2 ADAS suite like lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, auto high beam and lead car departure notification system. It is further equipped with segment-first Lanewatch camera, 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist and multi-angle rear parking camera with rear parking sensors, ISOFIX anchorages, anti-lock braking system and electronic brake force distribution and an emergency stop signal.

The cabin sports an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch TFT display for the driver’s console, a wireless phone charger, PM 2.5 air purifying filter, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker music system and USB charging ports. The new Amaze has a boot space of 416 litres.

New Honda Amaze: Design

The new Honda Amaze has moved away from its boxy design, adopting a more refined, City-like look. It features an Elevate-inspired honeycomb front grille, sleek twin-pod LED headlights, and a chrome-finished hood. A character line runs along the side, stretching from the headlights to the LED taillights. The car is also equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, and a new LED tail lamp cluster. The Amaze is available in six colours: Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.
