Honda City Apex Edition launched: Here’s what’s different?

Honda City competes against the likes of Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

After Elevate, Honda has launched the Apex Edition kit for City as well. Priced at Rs 25,000, only limited units of this special accessory kit will be available for sale. The Apex Edition kit is available in mid-spec V and VX trims across manual and automatic versions, and can be opted for by the customer at the dealership level. 

Hence, the price of City Apex Edition turns out to be somewhere between Rs 13.30 lakh and Rs 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). Like the Elevate, the City Apex Edition gets cosmetic exterior and interior updates over the regular model. Let us take a look at them.

Honda City Apex Edition: What’s new?

Updates on the exterior of Honda City Apex Edition is limited to just Apex Edition badges on the front fenders and on the boot lid. Updates inside the cabin are more significant. The Apex Edition kit includes a leatherette finish for the dashboard, door pads and the centre console area. It also gets Apex Edition-exclusive seat covers and cushions.

The Apex Edition kit also adds a 7-colour ambient lighting system around the digital instrument cluster. This ambient lighting setup can also be bought as an individual accessory at a price of Rs 7,500 across all four trims of the mid-size sedan: SV, V, VX and ZX.

It has consistently been a strong business pillar for Honda Cars India. With the introduction of the Apex Edition of the Honda City, we aim to offer a more enhanced and premium package to our customers.”

Mechanically, the City Apex Edition is identical to the standard model. It is powered by a 1.5-litre iVtec naturally aspirated petrol engine which kicks out 119 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
