Honda BRV launched- Price, specifications & mileage

The Honda BR-V compact SUV is all set to launch in India today i.e. May 5, 2016. While the vehicle’s bookings are already on, deliveries will begin soon.

Honda BR-V will be offered with two engine options - a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel and a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol. While the petrol mill will be offered with two transmission options - a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed CVT automatic, the diesel powertrain will feature a 6-speed manual gearbox. Both the engines are the same that does duty in the Mobilio and the City.

The much-anticipated Honda BR-V was launched in India today i.e. May 5, 2016. While the vehicle’s bookings are already on, deliveries will begin right after its launch. The country’s first 7-seater compact SUV, Honda BRV, will rival Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and other compact SUVs.

The Honda BRV shares its platform and engine options with the Mobilio, and is expected to be priced quite aggressively against its competitors.

Honda BR-V review: petrol & diesel models driven

Honda BRV will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the petrol mill will be offered with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed CVT automatic, the diesel powertrain will feature a 6-speed manual gearbox. Both the engines are the same that do duty in the Mobilio and the City.

The 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol mill develops 117bhp of maximum power and 145Nm of peak torque, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, on the other hand, is good for 99bhp and 200Nm. During the media drive, the company revealed that the BRV petrol manual, petrol automatic and diesel return 15.4kmpl, 16kmpl, 21.1kmpl respectively.
